The bet
What a home win bet covers
A home win bet covers one result: the team playing at home wins in the 90 minutes plus stoppage time. On a slip it appears as 1 in the 1X2 market. A draw or an away win loses it, and extra time does not count.
Home sides start with an edge. They sleep in their own beds, play in front of their own fans and know the pitch. That edge is smaller than it was a generation ago, but it still shows in every league table.
Today’s list sorts every home side by its chance, so the top rows are the clearest favourites of the day.
The numbers
How home win chances are worked out
Home win chances blend the margin-free 1X2 price, which carries 65% of the weight, with a goals model built from the league table, which carries 35%. The table model gives the home side a small lift for playing at home.
A home team scoring 2.0 a game at home against a visitor conceding 1.6 on the road will usually rate above 55%. Two evenly matched sides land nearer 40%, with the draw taking a quarter or more.
Strong marks 65% or more and Fair 55% or more, the same cut-offs as the main tip on each match page. The fitted chance is the same one the main tip uses there.
Tomorrow
Home win predictions for tomorrow
Home win predictions for tomorrow join the list as each match page is written, about a day and a half before kick-off. The order is the same: highest chance first.
Home favourites shorten fastest when team news is good and drift when a key player is ruled out. A price at 1.50 tonight can be 1.40 or 1.65 by kick-off, so look again before you stake.
Each row links to the match page, where the home record, the form guide and the league table explain the chance.
Prices
Short-priced home favourites and the price
Short-priced home favourites tempt punters into big stakes. A team at 1.30 is priced as a 77% chance, so it loses roughly one match in four even when the price is right.
Compare the chance on the list with the price. A home side rated 70% has a fair price of 1.43; at 1.30 the bookmaker pays less than fair, and at 1.55 it pays more.
Two home favourites at 1.40 each make 1.96 together, and a ₦5,000 stake returns ₦9,800. Their joint chance is only about half, even at 70% each. Splitting stakes across days keeps one shock result from ending the week.
Record
Home win results from the last 7 days
Home win results are settled on the 90-minute score, and only Strong and Fair picks count towards the rate. Each settled pick stays below with its final score.
Home win predictions today move into this record once the scores are final, and every row keeps its pre-match chance beside the result.
One shock away win can spoil a strong week, and that is normal at these chances. Judge the picks over a month, and keep stakes level instead of chasing a loss on the next favourite. Over a month, the strike rate and the profit tell different stories, so read both.
Home win FAQ
How often do home teams win?
In Europe's top leagues the home side wins a little under half of all matches. The share changes by league and by season, so each match gets its own chance here.
Is a home win the same as 1X?
No. A home win bet loses on a draw. 1X, a double chance option, wins on a home win or a draw at a shorter price.
Why is a big club missing from the list?
The list covers home sides only. A big club playing away appears on the double chance page or on its match page instead.
When is a home win settled?
At the end of the 90 minutes plus stoppage time. A cup tie decided in extra time is settled as a draw for the home win market.
