Nine results
HT/FT betting: the nine possible results
HT/FT betting has nine possible results, written as half-time result / full-time result. 1/1 means the home side leads at the break and wins. X/X means level at both points. X/2 means level at half-time and an away win.
The comebacks, 1/2 and 2/1, are the rarest results and carry the biggest prices. The common ones are 1/1 for a clear home favourite, X/X in tight matches and X/1 or X/2 where a stronger side scores late.
Today’s list shows one result per match: the likeliest of the nine. On a Nigerian slip the market is listed as HT/FT or half time/full time.
The numbers
How the HT/FT chance is built
The HT/FT chance is built from the same expected goals that drive the match page, split between the two halves. Roughly 45% of goals in Europe’s top leagues come before half-time, so the first half gets 45% of each side’s goals and the second half 55%.
Every pairing of a first-half score and a second-half score is then added up into the nine results. A home side expected to score 2.0 against 0.8 usually rates near 40% for 1/1.
Strong marks 40% or more and Fair 30% or more. The bookmaker line read for each match leaves HT/FT out, so each row shows the fair price.
Tomorrow
HT/FT predictions for tomorrow
HT/FT predictions for tomorrow join the list as each match page is written, about a day and a half before kick-off. Evening European fixtures land last.
Half-time results are more random than full-time ones, so HT/FT picks rarely pass 45%. Read the chance on each row before you stake, and treat anything below 30% as a long shot.
Each row links to the match page, where the first-half goals chance and the main tip sit side by side.
Prices
HT/FT prices and the 1/1 favourite
HT/FT prices for the 1/1 favourite usually sit between 2.00 and 3.00 when the home side is clearly stronger. At 2.50 the price implies 40%, so a 1/1 pick rated 42% is priced close to fair.
X/X and X/1 pay more, often 4.00 to 6.00, because they need a slower start. A ₦2,000 stake on X/1 at 4.50 returns ₦9,000.
Compare each bookmaker price with the fair price on the list before you choose the result to back. The same ₦2,000 on 1/1 at 2.40 returns ₦4,800.
HT/FT bets settle only when both parts land, so a late equaliser that turns 1/1 into 1/X loses the stake.
Record
HT/FT results from the last 7 days
HT/FT results need the half-time score as well as the full-time one. Matches settle into the record below once both scores are in, and only Strong and Fair picks count towards the rate.
HT/FT predictions today join the record the morning after, each row showing the full-time score. Matches settled before half-time scores were stored stay out of the count, so the rate covers only picks that can be checked in full.
With chances between 30% and 45%, two or three hits from ten picks is a normal week. The record shows whether the prices make up for the misses.
HT/FT FAQ
What does X/1 mean in HT/FT?
X/1 means the match is level at half-time and the home side wins at full time. The first part is the half-time result, the second part the 90-minute result.
How often does a 2/1 comeback happen?
Rarely. An away lead at half-time that turns into a home win happens in only a few matches in a hundred, which is why 2/1 pays 20.00 or more.
Is HT/FT settled on 90 minutes?
Yes. The full-time part settles on 90 minutes plus stoppage time, so extra time and penalties do not count.
Which HT/FT result comes up most?
In matches with a clear favourite, 1/1 or 2/2 leads. In even matches X/X tops the nine more than any other result.
